PLANT LAYOUT AND FACTORY BUILDING


During the course of appraisal considerable emphasis should be given on a proper and scientific plant layout as once the plant and equipment are erected it becomes difficult and costly affair to change at a later stage. In view of this following aspects are kept in mind while evaluating the plan layout
  1. Production technology
  2. Efficient economic and uninterrupted flow of men and material
  3. Proper space for maintenance
  4. Future expansion and diversification of the project
  5. Safety precautions particularly when explosive and bulky materials are required to be handled
  6. Proper lightning and ventilation
  7. Proper layout of utilities and services and provisions for affluent disposal wherever necessary
  8. Effective supervision of work
  9. Proper storing space where required
Factory Building - Building designs are to be kept in conformity with the plant layout and construction of building is to be carried out by experienced architects and contractors and the management group. In case where process requirements envisages special condition like air conditioning, air cooling, dust control, humidity control, it must ensured that due care is given in the design of the building.
